Understanding your utility bill
Bank Draft: Offers customers the option of having payment for their utility bill automatically deducted from their checking account. To be eligible for the bank draft program, customers must maintain a good credit history with the City and be the account owner.
Equal Pay: Offers customers the opportunity to have the same utility payments throughout the year. Payment is based on a twelve month average. To be eligible for the equal pay program, customers must maintain a good credit history with the City, be a homeowner and must have resided in their current residence a minimum of 12 months.
Customers may sign up for the equal pay plan during the months of March and October.
If you wish to sign up for either for these programs please print and complete the applications and bring them to the customer service desk at City Hall.
Terminating Utility Services: To terminate a utility service, you must go to city hall and complete a service order at the customer service desk. Your services will be discontinued on the date you select and a final utility bill will be prepared for your account. If there is a balance due on your account, your meter deposits will be used to satisfy the balance owed. If the deposits are not enough to cover the final bill, you will be billed the difference. Also, if your meter deposits are not required to be used for payment of your final bill, the deposits will be refunded to you at your forwarding address. It is very important when terminating services with the City that you leave a forwarding address where refunds and billings may be sent.
