Sallisaw NOW Coalition serves the City of Sallisaw, Oklahoma in Sequoyah County. Our main goal is to maintain strong leadership and strategic partners in order to identify needs and address target issues arising from substance misuse in our community. We also stay closely involved with other government and tribal partners to implement effective local strategies to reduce the abuse of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, and prescription drugs. The coalition's primary target population is underage youth. We have two very strong youth coalitions at Sallisaw and Central High Schools and hope to establish more throughout Sequoyah County in the future. These coalitions focus on engaging other youth at the peer-to-peer level in remaining alcohol and drug free.
The Sallisaw NOW Coalition partners with local sector representatives to implement a myriad of prevention activities:
The NOW Coalition meets on the third Thursday of every month at 2pm, at the Civic Center located in downtown Sallisaw. These meetings are open to the public and anyone may freely attend.
